Joel Hans Embiid is a Cameroonian professional basketball player for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). born on 16 March 1994, in Yaoundé, Cameroon, Embiid stands at an average height of 2.13 meters, making him one of the tallest basketball players.
Unlike most American kids, Embiid did not start his basketball career early. He was discovered and mentored at a basketball camp by Luc Mbah a Moute, a fellow native of Yaounde and an NBA player. As a result, he moved to the United States at age 16 to devote himself to becoming a professional basketball player.
